Had a wildland fire drill on the Ranch yesterday. There were fire crews from several cities here practicing. After all the hoopla all week about it (big story in the paper, a notice mailed, a message left on answering machines) it wasn't all that impressive. They say they did all that so people wouldnt be worried that there was a real fire. However several conversations overheard in the Cookie Crock made me realize I wasn't the only one who thought the event didn't live up to the hype! Most everyone said "have you seen anything today?" I haven't seen any trucks or anything....
The only reason we saw these is because we actually went to the ranch to try and see them. They didn't use sirens or lights. They said the helicopter was going to land on the Ranch but we didn't see that. Also they said there would be air tankers too but we didn't see any of those either.
Oh well Logan liked seeing the firemen running up the hill spraying water.
