What ever happened to weekends being relaxing?
But being busy is fun even though its pretty tiring. Ronan is almost done with his swim lessons. He is now swimming in clothes to simulate a fall into the pool. We also started soccer "lessons" with some friends. I hope poor Coach Sammy understands what he is getting into. A group of 4 year olds and a 2 year old who have the attention spans of gnats.... But they are outside having fun so thats all that really matters.
Here are a few pics from today.
Ronan mostly just ran around like a madman. He didn't much participate in the lesson. I think he was pretty tired as he swam hard this morning.
Logan only peripherally particpated. He kicked the ball around a little and ran around but whenever Sammy would speak to him directly he'd get all bashful and hide. We had a moment where he had the choice to sit on the grass with us or get out there and play. Those were his only options. He finally decided playing was better than not.
Here is Ronan in this mornings lesson. She puts them in the middle of the pool on this floatie thing and basically dumps them off simulating a fall into water. He then has to orient himself and either float or swim to the side. He did really well.
He much prefers to swim to the wall than float. Its a little scary to watch even though I know he's not going to drown. He swims and swims and swims and I think "flip and rest" but he just chugs on. He still doesn't quite have the float down. He does it but instead of just floating and resting he tries to float and swim so he takes on a lot of water and there are times when I just want to yell "relax and float" but I don't. Its not easy watching what looks like your child drowning but he's a pretty savvy guy. Ms. Steffi has to keep moving him away from the wall to get him to float and rest. He will turn direction and head for the wall rather than swim towards her as he knows if he gets to the wall he's done if he goes towards her, she makes him flip and float. He's no dummy!
