Logan was excited to try out his new gloves. We went to work and school and I picked them up at 3.
However we had to wait (as usual) for Daddy to finish.
After about an hour we headed out. Trip was smooth until about 1/2 hour from the end. I think if we did not have to stop behind the snow plow who had stopped behind a car putting on chains we might not have gotten stuck but we did so Judd had to go out in the dark and snow to put on our chains.
Unfortunately we did not try a practice run in daylight so it was about twice a much work as it should have been. But we got them on and got there with no further mishaps.
Snowing!
The next morning we were ready for some fun sled action. Some icicles on the path
This was the view from our room window. Pretty!
This is the overnight accumulation of snow on our car. The boys were quite impressed.
Ronan looks like a stuffed bear.
Got Daddy with a snowball!
This is the snow play area. We set up in between the two groups of people already there. It was nice we had about an hour of just us there before we got invaded. Time enough to make a really fun fast run down the hill. Unfortunately some kids took over while we were building snowmen. Doesn't anyone teach snow etiquette? Cripes. Some of them were menaces. They didn't care if you were in their path they just plowed over you. They walked up the run rather than up the path to the side and didn't wait until you were finished and out of the way before they plowed down. Thankfully Logan was pretty much done with sledding by the time they got there. He did a few runs while they were there but after one pretty big crash he was done. He got some awesome air and did really well all together. Ronan was not so interested in sledding. He did a few runs but was more interested in jumping off stuff and just plowing around in the snow.
Does that say fun or what?
I love this sequence:
getting a little air,
uh oh, bad landing
oops
that was fun
Lets go again!
Daddy crashed
Me pulling Ronan up the hill
Us coming down.
Ronan really liked eating the snow (umm yuck!)
Ronan getting his own air
Oops, falling off the back
about to blast me with a snowball
Sunday was totally clear. Logan didn't want to sled he just wanted to hike around, so we just wandered around the paths around the hotel.
There was alot of this, kicking the snow. Every few steps there was a "Hi YaH" or "take that" accompanied by a ferocious kick. Of course it didn't work so well on the really frozen stuff.
Breakfast of champions, fruit loops and apple juice
2 cute boys
2 more cute boys
helping load up the car. Notice Logan is riding rather than pushing.
Cheeeeeeese
It was tons of fun. Next year I think it will be even more so as Ronan will likely be more interested in sledding and Logan if he doesn't change his mind will have even more fun. We may even attempt some cross country skiing, he seemed to be really interested in that.
Until next year, bye snow.
