Mental Health Day

Today we ran away from responsibilities (except for daddy, he stayed and went to work) and headed up to Monterey to the Aquarium.  Gotta get my money's worth out of my membership!

What the heck is this thing?  It was HUGE

We packed lunch and sat outside and enjoyed some scuba divers and kayakers

Ronan was very concerned the pigeons would eat his goldfish.

Surprisingly Logan spent alot of time in the splash zone.  He usually won't have anything to do with it.

so pretty

Posing the in the penquin nest.

Soon after this I had a major heart stopping moment.  We decided to head over to the Sea Horse and Flamingo exhibit.  We stopped to peek into the penquin lookout and when I turned around Logan was no where to be seen.  I think oh he's just waiting at the stroller.  Ronan and I walk over there, nothing.  We do another lap around the splash zone, nothing.  Again, Again, going ever faster and with panic building.  We do a mad dash over the bridge into the Outer Bay exhibit, hotfoot it through there and then back across the bridge to the Splash zone.  I go into the small gift shop there and tell the lady I can't find him.  She calls security and they come up and say "not to worry, he's downstairs with us"  We go downstairs and there he is at the information booth chatting up the lady there.  She gave him a shark bookmark.  As soon as I saw him I of course burst into tears.    Needless to say I had to sit down for a few minutes to compose myself.    He was not able to tell me why he went downstairs other than "I thought that was where we were going"  After much discussion of how he needs to stay with me because what would have happened if the security man hadn't found him  we set off for the Seahorses.  Of course he was practically stepping on my feet the rest of the day.

Whatchu lookin at?

I could watch these guys all day

Then as we were leaving we had to stop in the Ghiradelli store and have some ice cream

All in all it was a fun day, minus the frantic 15 minutes anyway.  It wasn't too crowded but the road work on the way up and back added another 45 minutes to our drive time which sucked but what can you do?

Next adventure,  Mid State Fair!
