Thank goodness they have those prepaid wrist bands or I'd be in the poor house.
I got 2 third places for my jelly. A bit of a bummer but to each his own I guess. I read a rant on my mommy board from another lady who makes jelly and jam and other canning stuff that there is one judge (although he is not a preserving judge) enters something in nearly every category and of course wins. She was not happy. I'm assuming from what she said my problem was "proper technique" as I don't add pectin to my jelly and I'm not all that concerned with head space either. Alas. Maybe for next year I'll do some small batch with pectin but maybe not.
