Missing pictures and Logan's 4th surgery

Here are a couple of missing photos from our whale watch weekend.  Logan with his ticket.
While Ronan was at MyMuseum with Dad, he drew this photo of Logan and I on the boat.  The whale is spouting me in the face.  He thought that would be hysterical.
One of Ronan's "Mom, take a picture of my butt" photos.
Today Logan went in for his 4th surgery.   Yes 4th.  He is only 8 and so far has had one on average every 2 years.  I hope this is not a continuing trend.  Today he had his "indirect inguinal hernia" repaired.  Basically the whole in his abdominal wall did not close after his testicles descended, right around birth.  The Dr said its very common in boys and usually doesn't cause any harm but there are possibilities of problems later so better to take care of it now.

He brought his new owl toy and his blankie and got to come in his pj's.  He did pretty well.  He got scared when we went into the patient area.  He saw all the beds and medical equipment and people on them and started to cry.  He DID NOT want to put on the hospital gown.  They moved him into the "kids kave" which is basically a small room with a door so he could have some privacy.  Finally convinced him to put the gown on and then the anesthesiologist came in and explained what he would be doing.  We hung out and I told him what the operating room would look like and we played some Minecraft.  The Dr said he cried when he realized I would not be in the operating room but didn't put up a fuss with the mask and they had no problems.  It was a classic hernia and all other manly bits were in their proper position.

It took about 40 minutes and they brought him back to the kave for recovery.  The first time he woke up he asked "did they do it yet?".  He slept off and on for about another 45 minutes and he just kept asking when he could go home and when he could put his clothes back on.  He did not like being nekkid under that gown.

He is doing great.  By 6 I was having to tell him to NOT run up and down the stairs.  He finally ate something and he put his new Lego set together.  He and Ronan have been having a Minecraft marathon.
Glad that is over.
