We survived

The Thanksgiving trek to my parents. Of the 20 hours of driving Ronan slept for probably 18 of them (Halleluah) Logan did well too. It was harder on him as now that he is in his high back booster seat he can't really sleep in it. So he would get tired and frustrated. Thank goodness for the portable DVD player. They both slept well in the hotel and cabin so that was a relief.

Our cabin was strangely enough right next to my oldest (as in I've known her for 36 years) friends Grandma's house. Before my parents bought their house we rented one and Cass's grandma and grandpa lived down the hill from our house. One fine day she decided to run away and up the hill she came to our house and we've been friends ever since. The people that own the house now built a little 1 bedroom cabin on the property. It was strange seeing it as an adult. Back then it seemed the hill to our house was SOOOOOOOO long. Our house isn't there anymore it burnt down long ago and the church that used to be there is gone too. It was an odd deja vu kinda thing. The cabin was probably the most kid friendly of the ones we have rented but one big drawback is there is very limited cooking facilities. No stove, just a microwave, hotplate and toaster oven. Which if it was summer and you could BBQ would be ok but not so good for winter time. But we just ate at Dad's so it was fine. No TV but thankfully Logan doesn't watch too much so it wasn't a big issue. No phone either and being there is little to no cell phone reception there that wasn't so great. But as I said its right next to the owners house so if there was a problem we could just go there.

We took Logan down to the river where he could throw rocks and explore. Lots of memories of that river, swimming and fishing and tubing. What fun. When the boys are big enough I so want to take them rafting.

Anyway it was a successful road trip, but boy I'm glad to be done with all that driving!
