Today I had to put AJ to sleep. I took him in on Friday for his re-check and he was still deteriorating. The medications were not working and he was getting weaker and weaker. I couldn't in good conscience keep him with me just because I didn't want to let go. So I brought him home for the weekend for some final goodbyes. We had 19 years together, lots of laughs and lots of snuggles, a few spats and a few scares.
