Friday I took Logan to the surgery center to have his adhesions taken care of. We left here at 6:00am and checked in. He was great. Was a little leery of the nurse with the funny hat but he had some puzzles so he brushed it off. The first obstacle came when it was time to take off his clothes and put the hospital gown on. He did not want ANY part of that. The nurse rolled out a TV and popped in Toy Story 2 so while Logan was watching that I stealthily slipped shoes socks and shirt off then wrassled him into the gown. He didn't like it but was a bit too distracted by the movie to fuss for too long. Luckily the procedure was going to be really fast so we didn't have to worry about getting an IV in him. I told the nurse he would like kick a huge fuss when it was time to go back. So after the Dr got there and they conferred with the anesthesia doc they suited me up in a haz mat suit and let me carry him into the OR. He was a little freaked at that but was also a little interested. He sat in my lap and we had to hold him down to put the mask on. He was crying so it actually made it go faster. After he was out they put him on the gurney and escorted me out. At that point I lost it a little. Stress? Nerves? The fact that I'm a big sissy and was thinking something would go horribly wrong and I would never see him again? All because of stupid sticky skin? Nah I'm tougher than that right? (if you ignore the big S on my forehead)
So i strip off the hazmat suit and go into the lobby. I have time to go to the bathroom, call Judd and make a cup of coffee and the Dr was out saying it went just as he thought. Very easy. I read about 2 paragraphs of my book and the nurse came out and said I could go into recovery. Logan was awake but groggy. They rolled a recliner in the room and let me hold him in my lap while we watched more Toy Story 2. After about 45 minutes we were able to get him dressed and leave. So Logan had quite a diet yesterday. Chocolate pudding? Sure. Cookies? Sure? More juice? Sure. Can I spell G-U-I-L-T?
The hard part now is Logan is a hysterical mess everytime we change his diaper. Actually its only when he see's the medicine that needs to go on that he wigs out. And I KNOW its 90% act as the one time I put the medicine in his diaper rather than try and put it on him he was perfectly fine and as soon as you close his diaper he's perfectly fine. It looks alot better hopefully it won't stick again and we won't EVER have to deal with it again. Poor guy, I don't want to give him issues about that!
Sigh.....
ITs nice and sunny today, going to try and head down to the beach to play for a while today. After the usual laundry, picking up the toys strewn about and sweeping up the mashed cheerios, puff and other assorted toddler foods on the floor.
