I ran away for 3 days for my birthday with my oldest and dearest friends. We went here. It was pretty swank.
We rented one of the suites. So on Thursday, my actual birthday they had been taunting me about my birthday surprise. I admit I was a bit scared.
So we get dressed and go and to my surprise we went and saw Warrant. They bought dinner seats so we could actually have a place to sit but oh boy that may have been the worst dinner EVER. We came to the conclusion that they pretty much just opened a frozen dinner and microwaved it. It was G-NARLY.
Boy we are rockers aint we?
How funny is it that he has a glass of wine? Eric Turner, guitar. Cass has no shame. She totally plugged the fact it was my birthday to get the guys to pose for photos.
Jerry Dixon, bass. I had the hugest crush on him back in the day.
New singer, since Jani Lane is dead. He was very good.
We bum rushed the stage....
On Saturday we went to the spa at the Four Seasons. Talk about Swank! We spent all day there courtesy of a Dr that Cass consults for. Thanks Dr! Vic and I got massages and facials and Cass got a heavy duty deep tissue massage. We then soaked in the hot tub for a while, ate lunch by the pool and hit the sauna. I've never spent all day at a spa before and I must say it was quite enjoyable. Good thing Cass has a generous employer as I'd never be able to afford it otherwise! Yowsa. But it was very fun to live the posh life for a day. We then went to Malibu to Nobu.
Now I don't eat sushi. Unless its a California Roll. It grosses me out to no end. But several glasses of passionfruit sake changed my mind. So I gave it a shot. It was very good but still not my cup of tea.
This was scallop truffle chips. Pretty yummy
this was Yellowtail sashimi,also good.
We also went to Sweet Arleens to get cupcakes. She has been on Food Network's Cupcake Wars and won, twice! They are very good but way too much frosting. We (well they) did some clothes shopping and then we had to go home.
We ended up getting a screaming deal on our hotel as well. Both Friday and Saturday nights there was quite a ruckus in the room next to ours. Friday night there was a bachelorette party (we think) They ended up getting escorted out by the cops. Saturday it was a drugged up, drunk cougar (yes she went to the cougar bar and brought someone back to her room = and she is married). Anyway when we went to check out the security guy told Cass she pitched quite the fit when they threw her out. Because of these two things we got one night free and $100 off each of the other nights and free breakfast. Can't beat that.
Its always fun to be back with Cass and Vic. They have known me practically my whole life and its nice to not have to work at a friendship. The only downside is it always makes me miss them so much more when its time to go back to reality. sigh....
It was a very fun weekend.
