Happy 2013

A new year.

Lets hope it is a bit better than 2012, in more ways than one.

After several sleepovers at the cousins house it was time for them to come sleepover here.  They decided they wanted to camp out in the living room and stay up to ring in the New Year.

We made mini pizzas for dinner and the played and played and played with the multitudes of lego's.
Then we piled a huge amount of blankets and pillows in the middle of the floor and they snuggled in.

On Sunday after more playing with Lego's and a bout of Lego Star Wars on the Wii we packed up a picnic lunch and headed down to the park.

Typical Pressly always chasing after the boys, showing she can do whatever they do.

This is Ronan and Pressly's idea of a cute photo...

After multiple attempts to get them to cooperate for this pic, this was as good as it got.

A bit more together

Yesterday our last weekend before school starts again I decided I was going to go hike at Harmony Headlands.  I told the boys they could come but they could not complain or whine. We would be walking a couple of miles and I wasn't carrying any of their stuff or them so if they didn't want to walk don't come.  They both decided they would.

Logan posing at the trailhead.

And we are off.
Made it to the end with a minimum of fuss.  It was about 1 1/2 miles out there.  They had to relax and check out the view.

Family pic
We encountered a few other hikers and one gentleman told us we could probably see whales.  I thought "ha I've lived here over 15 years and have yet to successfully spot any"  So we sat on the little bench and had our snack and looked out at the view.  Said gentleman came back by and said if you look that way you can see their spouts and even some backs.  So we looked and saw..... nothing.  "great I thought another bust"  then as we were looking we saw a fishing boat and were watching that and lo and behold
SPOUTS!
I nearly peed myself.  Logan saw them too.  Ronan missed the first few but we kept watching and he saw them too.  We were so excited!  It was amazing.

On the way out we turned back for one last look and saw them again.  Logan decided to commemorate the event by writing "Logan saw (sic)wales"
and Ronan drew a picture of Robin.  Moving on...
This tree just looked cool so we took a picture of it.
Relaxing on the way back.
It was quite an awesome hike, got home before the rain started and the boys decided to photograph their rock and stick collection (you can see the sticks there in the photo) and promptly broke my camera (this is Elph #2 they have broken).
Mommy was not happy, rather harshed my high as it were.
