Well the fair was shall we say interesting.
Logan was very excited about going. We got there and he was practically getting whiplash from trying to see everything at once. We did a tour of the sheep barn and some very nice 4Hers offered to hold their sheep so he could pet it. Umm a big NO on that one. So then we looked at the cows and watched one get washed and trimmed for showing. Wanted nothing to do with the pig barn. Checked out the bunnies and chickens, then he decided he wanted to see the rides.
So off to the midway we wander. He claps eyes on the Merry Go Round and is ready to go on it. He waits in line with daddy and they go through the turnstile then complete 180. Just totally LOST it. Crying and screaming No NO NO. So needless to say THAT didn't turn out well. So daddy took Ronan on it and he thought it was the greatest thing ever! He was laughing and he'd try and look for us as they went by. Daddy also took Ronan on the Super Slide. I WISH I could have gotten a picture of Ronan's face when the got to the bottom 'cause they hauled booty down that slide! So after the ride fiasco Logan wanted to look at the other ones so we went and LOOKED at all the rides then he saw the games.
So I shelled out $5 for 25 ping pong balls so he could try and win a goldfish and wouldn't you know it he managed to land a ball in those teeny tiny bowls twice (the lady gave us 3 fish though). After shelling out another $6 for some food and a carrying container (I was not going to attempt to carry 3 plastic baggies of fish around) to take them home in we proceeded. Then Logan sees ANOTHER ping pong game. So another $5 for 25 balls and he managed to hit the bowls 4 times and won a little blue stuffed newt (some kind of lizard anyway) He bounced several balls out of the purple bowls which would have won him one of those HUGE stuffed toys. I could just imagine having to drag that around (honestly was a little relieved that they bounced out). After that we trekked through the home arts building so I could scope out the quilts. I saw several that I thought " I could do that" and several that I thought "no way in H E double hockey sticks!" I did however see a baby quilt pattern that I'm going to steal. Of course it will likely just stay a pattern that I'd like to do someday considering the amount of time I actually have to quilt!
So today I picked Logan up early from school so we could head to the store to pick up a real tank for the fishies. Of course we ended up with a tank, gravel, food, water cleaner, algea cleaner, plants, a "toy" for the fish and a net. So my initial $11 outlay ended up costing me another $75 bucks! Thats like $28 a fish! Cripes! Oh well Logan is thrilled with his fishies and its all I can do to keep him outta the tank. The unfortunate thing is one of the fishies went to the ole river in the sky so daddy is going to stop at the pet store and sneak in a replacement. Logan hasn't realized that the "sleeping" fish isn't really sleeping!
I remember winning a goldfish at the fair and we had that sucker for years! He dropped him on the floor, froze him, overheated him and that thing just was bombproof! Hopefully we won't kill these poor lil dudes off.
