Happy Memorial Day

What Heroes Gave

by Roger Robicheau

Each donned their uniform to be
Defenders of our liberty
Their mission sure, their spirits bright
Guard freedom’s home, be brave to fight
One final day each faced their call
Each gave their best enduring all
We’ll never know what they went through
But know they loved this country true
Deep down inside we should all feel
What heroes gave, their cost so real
We must stay thankful, grateful of
The gift of freedom through their love
Their loved ones bore the gravest pain
What we can’t know, some now sustain
To God I pray their pain will cease
And each will find long-lasting peace
Remember this from year to year
What heroes gave – shan’t disappear
We’ll never let their special day
Their time for honor slip away
These brave fought for a nation free
If not for them, where would we be?

Ok now the newsy stuff

Not much to report, pretty much the same ole stuff. I started Ronan in Baby Seals swim lessons. Friday was our first lesson. They are every Friday, Sat, Sun, Mon for 6 weeks. The lessons are about 10-15 minutes long. It is a little disturbing at first but he is doing very well. He cries but he knows already how to hold his breath, where the wall is and how to turn and grab on to it. Still only kicks sporadically but he's getting it. Steffi says he's is catching on quickly. Hopefully the crying will diminish entirely. He is crying less each time but he still calls for me. "why why are you torturing me so mommy!" But he's till giving her 5 fives during the lesson and once out he's Joe Cool. Hungry as a bear and ready to go.

No school today so we are just going to hang out, maybe have a picnic if it warms up and try to hit the farmers market for some fresh fruit.
