Monster Mania

So we took the boys up to Salinas to see the Monster trucks. I wish I would have know you could go and see the trucks at the Pit Party without having tickets. They just had them parked on the grass outside the arena. If I would have done that it would not only have saved me money but alot of grief as well. Lesson learned.

Ronan and I were the only two to actually see the trucks in action. We had to check out of the hotel by 11 and the gates didn't open until noon so we went to the park next to the arena. Logan was fine with everything, even when they fired up I guess to check and make sure they were running or lining up or something. But in typical Logan fashion when it came time to actually GO IN, he had a complete and utter breakdown. So he and daddy sat in the car the entire time. Judd said you could see them when it was freestyle time going off the big jumps in the center.

Ronan was a champ. He fell asleep during the preliminary action, which consisted of remote control races, quad racing and some truck racing. As soon as the big trucks fired up he sat bolt upright. I was certain he was going to cry but he just looked around and then started watching. He had his earphones on so hopefully it wasn't too loud. He watched the entire show. He got a little antsy at intermission but we went and got him some fruit from the concession stand and he was fine. The last two trucks during freestyle he was playing a rippin game of peek a boo with the girl behind us rather than watching but he didn't fuss at all. Bummer that my camera battery died before the freestyle began. I was hoping Judd could convince Logan to come in so he could bring the big camera in but no dice.
All in all it was fun. I should have realized Logan wouldn't go in but I'm ever hopeful.

Great pictures! Glad Logan was able to enjoy at least some of it. And glad you and Ronan were able to still see the show.
