Tooth Extraction Day

So we arrive at 7:45. Logan is feeling pretty brave.

We check in, get called back and put Wall E in the DVD. They give him the loopy juice and he starts to drink it then spits 1/2 of it out. So we had a little talk and he finally gave in and drank the remainder. After about 20 min they said well he's as loopy as he's going to get so lets try and see if he's calm enough to do the IV. I didn't really think he was all that out of it until he tried to walk. He couldn't make his legs do anything. So I carried him down to the procedure room. He started to cry when I put him in the chair. I'll admit I could see his point of view. There were 4 grown up strangers, masked, gowned and gloved. They booted me at this point so I had to just give him a hug and kiss and get out.
I kept waiting for them to come out and say he was pitching a fit and we'd have to reschedule but he did pretty good. It took just under an hour. He was crying when I went back to the recovery room but they said to expect that after sedation. We sat and watched Wall E for a bit. He really wanted the IV out. They had left it in and were giving him some anti nausea drugs. His arm was in a splint thing to keep it straight. He was fussy, crying and grumpy in turn but after about 20 minutes he was alert enough for us to leave.
We then headed over to Rite Aid to get his pain RX filled. Jeepers we were the first ones there and it took 40 minutes to fill it. He was WAY looped by that point. Mumbling, drooling, grabbing at things that weren't there. I got a few pitying looks from some of the people picking up their prescriptions "oh the poor retarted boy". Here he is trying to tell me the letters on the blood pressure machine.

Finally we get his meds and get outta there. After a brief stop at work to switch cars with Judd we headed over to Target to get his bribe. I'd told him if he cooperated he could get a new toy. He was asleep before we made it there and was 1/2 asleep while choosing his toy. He got a new truck with a trailer that holds motorcycles. He slept the whole way home. He's now ensconsed on the couch with yogurt, water and cartoons. He isn't messing with it too much and its not bleeding much so thats good. We shall see how the rest of the afternoon goes.

I was going to write how proud I was of all of you, but I can't even get the words out now! Good job Logan and Mommy! Hope he is fully recovered now, and I love your float, too! What a fun parade!

Ok, off to change my pants! I was so not expecting that!
