Well it wasn't an unmitigated disaster but it was pretty close.
We got there and he was fine bopping around in the waiting room, watching videos and playing games. Once his name was called it was all over! You would have thought we were pulling his fingernails off one by one with all the caterwauling going on.
The office is set up with a 3 chair "cleaning" area where the tech's clean teeth. There are video screens for watching movies and or playing games. Needless to say we DID NOT get anywhere near those chairs.
They took us back to one of the treatment rooms so the other kids could relax and finish their cleanings. They left us alone for bit and Logan calmed down a little. Strangely enough he reacted way LESS strongly to the dentist than he did to the hygenists. Usually if a strange man talks to him he has a complete meltdown. Anyway the Dr was really nice. We sat knee to knee with Logan on my lap facing me and we just laid him down so his head was in the Dr's lap. He took a quick peek in to make sure all the teeth were in and what they looked like. He said they looked good but unfortunately although they look awesome and straight now likely when his "big" teeth come in there will not be enough room so we are "probably" looking at orthordontia when he hits Jr High age. By this time Logan was calm and chatting with the dentist, he even gave him a high five! So we talked a little bit about proper brushing and flossing (which we haven't tried yet ACK) and Logan was telling him how he brushed and how he spit the extra toothpaste out.
So we didn't get any teeth cleaning done but at least he knows that its not the end of the world and maybe when we go back in 6 months we might actually get some cleaning done.
And on another note if you do so could you all send up a little prayer for a friend. She is due with a baby girl soon and for several months its gone back and forth about whether or not the baby has some sort of heart problem. She has to head to a specialist next Friday for confirmation so everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed that it all turns out ok.

Sorry L didn't allow a cleaning, but it sounds like he is warming up to idea of going to the dentist. What a big boy!
